WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level upgrade level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using the help of button, which will display a preview of the item upgrading at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a variety of options. First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
