WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example.
