It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection but this was not reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.

If you own a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes.
