Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

While robots aren't able to substitute for a conventional vacuum in removing dirt-in particles like metal screws and pieces of orzo pasta, they're excellent in sweeping dust, crumbs and hair from pets. The best self cleaning vacuum models have intelligent navigation technology that assists them in avoiding cords, toys, and other household obstacles.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

Unlike some of the other robovacs we've test, the i3+ EVO features an automatic emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's full. This reduces hands-on maintenance and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still requires manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L that is enough to last through four to five cleaning sessions.

Like the i7, utilizes state-of-the-art floor washing robot-tracking sensors that create maps. It also lets you navigate through neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores a single map while the i7 can store multiple. The i7 can also use its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, however the i3+ EVO can't.
