WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current Item level upgrade level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers.
