Path of Exile Item Upgrades

item upgrader mod upgrades are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to the more modernized Common or Magic gear due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item they're attached to. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from other items.

The amount of damage an armored item or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the level of its upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to its highest upgrade level will boost its ability to absorb damage. However, it's important keep in mind that this will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.

There are a variety of armor upgrade available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. For example, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain number of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade an item can be given, as illustrated below.

Some of the upgrades are also magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is identified by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. The Jeweler can create all kinds of gems, except for the rare and legendary ones which you must attain certain levels to gain. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with another jewel of the same type without damaging the original one. However it is only possible to replace a jewel in a piece of equipment only once.

It is normal to use more gems to enhance the appearance of. The jewels can also enhance performance and make a surface harder than metal so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to them.

They are also available from vendors as well as through completing road interaction. They can also be made by jewelers, and found or purchased from the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny but valuable boost in speed of movement and the ability to evade. The player can then acquire necklaces, amulets, and rings, in a similar way to how they acquired weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero isn't in combat. This allows the hero to be more efficient while inactive. It also helps compensate for the absence of good slot in the talent tree or team which are usually filled by a hero's top stats.

A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item upgrades to be upgraded. This is especially true if you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is best to upgrade item just one crucial stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

In the beginning of the game, players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their trinket into a red one, while top and middle players will usually opt for a green or pink ward (depending on the matchup). These choices can impact a hero's ability to control the map.
