1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vac vacuum to date. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's also the first robot to automatically send you a picture of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the best amazon vacuum robot to mop we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it with a voice.

The design is also better than the other models. It has a sleek, top piece that resembles toys rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System is also self-emptying which will reduce your cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering all over the floor. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand, which most other robots couldn't do. It did all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.

The j7+, though not as smart as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum robot vacuum cleaner on sale from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, is still an excellent choice for those who require both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates and it's sometimes difficult to tell if they are working until you actually see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be one that is a hybrid. This kind of robot cleaning machine usually comes with a built-in tank for water, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your home at the same time. These bots also come with many additional features, including smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is the least expensive model of their auto-empty line. While it may not have some of the more expensive features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories), it's still a great choice for those who are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is exceptionally soft when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled with a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ it comes with a brand new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is simple. It also features a large LCD display which is great to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't necessary for everyone, but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum cleaner industrial vacuum and mop is a smart, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design and function are among the best on the market however, it's also expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive as well. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that does a really good job of cleaning up debris from unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially in the area of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a robot vacuum that does everything.

If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with more features, including stair climbing, a full-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning on hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at a price that is affordable robot vacuum. It's easy to set it up, simply attach one of the side brush, turn it on and connect your charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed near an outlet with plenty of room to move.

The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it will fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious when compared to rival models. It has a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The way the G30 cleans is what separates it from its rivals. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable objects in its path. It keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning where it left off.

The elegant G30 isn't without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation. It is faster to charge, has similar battery life and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which does not require more emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is less expensive and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be empty as often, and it has less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
