Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

While robots aren't able to substitute for a conventional vacuum in removing ground-in debris such as metal screws and pieces of orzo pasta, they're great in sweeping dust, crumbs and pet hair. The most effective models come with smart navigation technology, which helps them avoid cords, toys and other household obstacles.

Although the i3+ EVO is better in removing debris on surfaces than the other robovacs we reviewed, it's not the best for cleaning corners and edges. It's also more abrasive on furniture, despite being fairly silent. It pulled chairs away from walls and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and got stuck on cords and toys while testing.

It can also be programmed to follow a fixed path, which is beneficial for narrow staircases or hallways. It did a decent job of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning evaluation however, it had trouble with thicker pile carpets and rug.
