Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills or stains) in one go without the need to change devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you up and running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and robots that vacuum and mop a user-friendly app that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the best robot vacuum has completed, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks need to be done including emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would like to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It is able to change its path in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot vacuums best back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 is the first best robot vacuum vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture with a low profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's clever features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and control mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It also can detect the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has a number of features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirty spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a good method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options to customize your cleaning routine. It also offers a number of functions that are not available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
