Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time, without having to switch devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you could decide to let the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb, with the robot vacuum best being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only issue is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will show you exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station features a handy LCD screen that shows the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and washing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its course automatically and clean them without stumbling.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is striking and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot cleaner with mop to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only issue I have found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, robots that vacuum and mop and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. The X40 is also very quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or in a series. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available however, it comes with numerous additional features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a great way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There's a plethora of settings available which include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has a number of functions that are not available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
