Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you can, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station has a handy LCD screen that displays the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and washing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum that vacuums and mops mop and vacuum, is the newest version. It's not like the model from last year, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its path automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has only three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only negative I found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best rated robot vacuum alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. In addition, the X40 is extremely quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 has an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to get under low-profile furniture making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or separately. It can also be programmed to avoid areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, robots that vacuum and mop and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps, and control mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have many features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's a plethora of settings available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are many functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
