One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum and mop robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and cleans and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance.
