The best automatic vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as a dirt detectors) are both positives.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in removing hair from dogs. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and works while you are at work or in school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming this feature, which hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the rivals. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing with a little more noise and some additional cost it's a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum cleaner vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to organize an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency.
