World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

The feature of upgrading items allows players to increase the item level for weapons that can be equipped or armor. This increases the stats and sometimes adds buffs or rerolls to an affix.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrading your magic and common gear is not always worth the cost. Rare and exclusive gear will quickly outclass the standard gear and upgraded magic.

Cost

When a player decides to upgrade an item, they must spend Gold to upgrade the item. The cost to upgrade an item varies based on the current level of the item and the type of upgrade. Upgrades to weapons are typically cheaper than upgrades to armor, since weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required to upgrade an item increases when the item is upgraded to a higher level.

Upgraded items will also have upgraded stats that will improve its performance in different ways. This could include boosting its attack strength or critical strike chance. The upgraded item can also give additional bonuses to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to increase the overall power of a group or a single unit, and can be a major influence on the gameplay.

Items can be upgraded by any item upgrader NPC in the game. In general these NPCs are found in capital cities or major questing areas. Players can also find upgraders in dungeons that have high-level bosses and by talking to NPCs in their faction's garrisons.

The system of upgrading items in World of Warcraft provides players with the ability to upgrade the levels of armor, weapons, and trinkets. The process is similar to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the currency that is appropriate, players must visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.

Upgrades to items can be expensive, particularly when it concerns armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade track you select, each item upgrade can cost Valorstones or Crests. The total costs can be very prohibitive for players who do not have the resources or are unable to grind them.

Fortunately the game allows players to play a reroll of an upgraded item by using an exclusive tool within the menu for items. Requirements

The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to remember that the rerolled item won't be able to keep its original strength or use any wasted resources.

Some upgraded items are only able to be rerolled if the original item was a Unique Epic, Rare, or Rare. Exceptional items can also be rerolled, item upgrader however the original stats are replaced with an uncapped bonus. This means that rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a Normal version of the same kind, while the rerolling of an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same kind.

Item upgrades are a way to increase your gear and ship stats without the need to level them up. While upgrading isn't inexpensive, it's a good way to improve your stats without having to spend as much time in combat. It's important to know the cost and benefits prior to making the investment of time or money.

Each upgrade boosts the stats of the item level upgrade's base by a certain amount and gives a chance to get a bonus substat. By selecting the item and pressing the green button, which has a rerolling arrow the player can roll it into an upgradeable item. This will change the layout of the item window and allow players to select up to six items to "recycle". The item level upgrade that is recycled will be exchanged for an item of level 1 of the same type. Rerolled items won't retain their current level or amount of resources used to upgrade them.

An item's maximum upgrade level is determined by its quality and tier. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels up to nine, while common items can only be upgraded to level six.
