World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. This value is the total of all its upgraded benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.

It is also used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the level of an item. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it is capable of causing. The item level can also be used to compare items when examining the inventory of a vendor.

The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its value. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a few theories about how the item level calculation is made. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated by formulas that determine the worth of an item's stats actually are. Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods which are then boosted by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item upgrading determines the upgrade cost. For upgrade items instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times at higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item with a specific stat or reroll the affixes. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item level upgrade, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it's an item that is unique or the result of a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to increase. Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves and is therefore more useful in the early game as opposed to later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each level of the item upgrader mod and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items can be bought in the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it fails.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. Every item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

It is important to note that upgrade items (knudsen-qvist-2.technetbloggers.de said) are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
