WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item level Upgrade will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item upgrader kit from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. For item level upgrade instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For Item Level Upgrade instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
