Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills or stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you want for each room.

You can, for example request the robot vacuum with mop to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that displays the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.

This Roborock model, like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its course in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, Robots that vacuum and mop monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic hoovers vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry mess, including pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous features that make it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot vacuum cleaner vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's a plethora of settings available which include the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are many functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing, but it's still not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
