They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

However, it's a good choice for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and operates while you are at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you need to change the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best rated robot vacuum robotic hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a carpeted room to prevent cross-contamination. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and a little more cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and best robot hoover mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot vacuums uk utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty these areas are.

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to organize an automatic vacuum and mop spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance. The app also grants access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
