World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For example an item upgrader kit with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons can also reroll the stats of the base. This is usually a good thing, but it can also have negative consequences. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to improve their performance. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase its defense base while gloves and item Upgrades belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it may change its roll to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain after upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or connect to the status of your account.

Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor can make a huge differences in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to poison, curses fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to get through difficult areas. The more defense your character is, the more value you will get from every point of health you possess, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as possible.

To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor Item upgrades piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing the protection needed to survive a full on raid with a handful of friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll need to concentrate on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. Potions

Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed, provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Trinkets can be upgraded when they're no longer needed which allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are an attractive alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear, and then other equipment that they will not replace in the near future (such as rings or cloaks).
