The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot cleaner robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as dirt detectors) are both positives.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with a wet one in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also features strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and ensure more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a great job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and best robot hoover future compatibility (another company's robot mop that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit which could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot vacuums best uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with the degree of dirt they are.

If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you own a lot furniture. Finally a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map.
