WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the Best item upgrade level, however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to Best item upgrade owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, Item Level upgrade which displays a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item level upgrade has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via a variety of means, item level Upgrade which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular item upgrader mod level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less, even if they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
