Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item are improved by upgrading it, Item Upgrades which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment gives an increase in the linearity of the stats of a particular.

Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to another piece of gear by using the upgrade item Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove any glyph with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be recovered using the glyph shards.

When you remove an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards of the glyph will disappear. You can also apply an inscription on your equipment to provide a bonus. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly rather than all at once. This is helpful for players who suffer many hits from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes of equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mysterious boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being expensive and it's more equitable to let players pay for it in the form of money or a food item which would allow players to alter their builds without a lot of time and energy. However the paid rerolls aren't something the developers are planning to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add an ingredient that allows players to change their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to boost the value of an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade that increases the value of upgrading the stat.
