World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is designed for Upgrade item non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the item to which it is used (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure how much it can be improved upon the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete or even break in the event that the Upgrade Item fails. Upgrade Crystals and Upgrade Item assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Utilizing Glyphs Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced with a different item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may become more expensive even if you do not require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with a level 1 base and a different set of bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can use up many resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits water. This item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is highly useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition which means that the player has to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like the chance to crit attack damage, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade items requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
