WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an Best item upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to improve the quality of weapons, item upgrader tools, armor, and other accessories. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Best item upgrader upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of choices. They can use Flightstones which are a general upgrade currency that is accessible to everyone, or crests, which are more specific and used to upgrade specific item upgrader kit levels. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
