World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and upgrade items Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, upgrade items as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is used (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item upgrade will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a significant possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade items could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

In the final game you'll often discover that the Best item upgrader way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets leveled up.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item it will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be repeated often, as it could waste lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits water. This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, which requires the player to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

Whenever an item upgrade is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Players will still have to bring every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost listed above.
