The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and often it's hard to determine whether the update is working until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best vacuums option is probably a hybrid. This kind of robot usually includes a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your house simultaneously. They also have a number of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They are expensive at full retail but often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't fail to impress. It's their cheapest auto-empty model. While it lacks certain features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is remarkably soft when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a problem which many robot vacuums often fail. The Q5+'s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses on walls and corners.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map, or re-label the rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. This isn't a necessity for everyone, but it's one that can help you keep track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot vacuum cleaner on sale effortlessly.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are some of the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes many tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the few robovacs I've tried that does an excellent job of collecting debris from plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs. This means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of the home. It's not able navigate stairs as well as some competitors, for instance, and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great option for those looking for an automated vacuum that can do it all.

If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is less expensive, but offers many more features, like stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

eufy is an Anker company that has a history of producing robot best vacuums that have the right balance of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a price that is affordable. It's simple to set up, simply attach one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app guides you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed near an outlet and have enough space to move.

The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, so it is able to fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious in comparison to other models. It is sleek with a black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.

The way the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses an integrated map to draw a picture of the immovable items that are in its path. It can remember the items it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it began.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower cost of operation. It is faster to charge, has a similar battery life, and performs better on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with bulky materials like cereal.
