1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. The most significant innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It makes use of AI to detect objects such as charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, so you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo j7+ is also the best automatic vacuum cleaner robot to mop we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it by voice.

The design is also better than the other models. It has an elegant, top piece that appears like a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System is also self-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering all over the floor robot. It even could catch small gravel and sand that other robots couldn't do. And all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.

While it's not quite as smart as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent option for those who require both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to determine if they are working until you actually see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean smart robot your floors then a hybrid is the best robot floor cleaner option. This category of bots typically has a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home simultaneously. These bots also have a variety of extra features such as smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is the manufacturer of several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not disappoint. It's the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't include some of the premium features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice if you are willing to compromise to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes down to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it a great option for homes with many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem where cheaper robot vacuums often fail. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few missed corners and on walls.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled with a few buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas, adjust your home map, or re-label the rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place it can be done easily. It features a large LCD screen, which is useful in setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This isn't an essential feature for the majority of people, but it's one that will help you keep the track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot effortlessly.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is one of the top in the market however it's quite expensive.

Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and its size is relatively compact. But the station's main selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. The majority of other robots require this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive as well. It's the few robovacs I've tried that does a really good job of collecting debris from unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of the home. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors, either and doesn't come with an dock that allows you to create a dedicated cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need an automated vacuum that can do everything.

However, if you're looking to save some money or don't want to think about the limitations of this machine, there are plenty of other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models that cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive however it comes with more features, such as stairs and a fully-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted flooring, and a mopping function for a low cost. It's easy to set up, simply snap on one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then plug in your charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect it to Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located near an outlet with plenty of room to move.

The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it can fit under most couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. The design is more modest than other models, with a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, Robot Vacuum Deals which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.

The way that the G30 cleans is what separates it from its competitors. It uses an integrated map to draw a picture of the immovable items in its path. It keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. It then returns to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better constructed, has lower recurring expenses, charges more quickly and has the same battery life, while providing better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as often and comes with an array of boundaries that keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
