Replacement Upvc Window Handles

Most replacement windows handles made of upvc include everything you need. However, if your old handle was fixed with pins or screws they will need to removed. Then, you need to remove the snap-in cover at the handle's base.

Next you will need to determine the type of window and lock your new handle - this is crucial!

Espag

Espag handles are a set of multipoint locks that are designed to fit on casement windows like uPVC or wooden double glazing. The handle is fitted with a 7mm square shaft that fits inside a gearbox on the uPVC window. When the handle is turned, it will activate a series of locks around the perimeter of the window. Cockspur

Cockspur handles are generally found on older uPVC and aluminium windows. The handle is turned and then closes over a plastic wedge shaped receiver catch (not to be confused with window latches made of timber which are also handled in this section). The handles are available in lockable and nonlockable versions. They are available in a range of different nose sizes to match the existing frame.
