Bagless WiFi-Connected Robot Vacuum

This bagless robot vacuum cleaner wifi-connected robot (vr-insight.In) has an all-black, utilitarian design. Its price is comparable to other premium smart robotic vacuums.

You can control it using the physical Clean and Dock buttons at the top of the screen, through the SharkClean app, or via voice commands via Alexa and Google Assistant. It comes with a variety of smart features, including home mapping and virtual no-go zones.

Matrix Clean

It's simple to connect the Matrix to your wifi and get it started mapping out your rooms with the SharkClean app for your smartphone. The app lets you make a schedule to keep your home tidy or you can pick certain rooms to have Matrix begin cleaning the room automatically. You can also set up 'no-go' zones like beds or closets, that you do not want Matrix access to.

The app allows you to make use of the "spot cleaning" feature on demand. Precision home mapping combines 360deg of LiDAR vision with an accurate home map within the SharkClean app to enable completely autonomous movement and intelligent object avoidance. It creates a detailed mapping of your living space, whether either at night or during the day, allowing full movement without bumping furniture and other obstructions. This means that your robot can be left to complete a cleaning schedule or you can initiate Matrix cleaning on demand and set specific targets for your room from the app.

Powerful Suction

The RV2502AE is a solid mid-range robot vacuum that checks all the boxes. It's easy to use, generates precise home maps, and comes with a a self-emptying bagless vacuum robots base. It's also cheaper to run than other robot vacuums.

It also has plenty of power, scooping up debris with its suction opening and relying on its side brushes to push carpet and hair threads into the path of the brushroll. This stops the brushroll from becoming blocked and becoming messy, like other robotic vacuums. This makes the machine more effective for picking up hair from pets.

In addition to its suction power and self-emptying base, this robot comes with Matrix Clean Navigation for a thorough cleaning, Precision Home Mapping for object avoidance, and a high-efficiency HEPA filter that traps 99 percent of odors dust mites, and allergens and two power modes to suit different floor types and a remote control that gives you access to all of its functions. Moreover, it's compatible with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant so you can initiate cleaning tasks without having to touch the robot.

While it's a great option for homes of all kinds, some may find its navigation capabilities problematic. In contrast to other bump bots that can avoid stairs however, this one had trouble with stairs. It used LiDAR sensors and infrared sensors to map my home but it was constantly mistaking my cat condo as stairs and asked me if I wanted to move it. It also had a shorter running time than advertised, which was only 180 minutes.

Self-Empty Base

Shark's suction power is amazing and can take care of even the most difficult mess. The docking station's vacuum that is used to empty the dust bin is quite loud.

When the robot is connected to an outlet on the wall and charged it, a sound will be heard and an green light will blink across its top to show it's ready to start cleaning. When the battery of the robot is low, it will dock itself to its base and cease to work until it's fully charged. It's important that the dock or Self-Empty Base is placed in a place that isn't obstructed by furniture or other objects, and is clear of any obstructions in front of it.

This model is a little more expensive than other models in the middle of the range we've tested. However, it is better built and performs better on flat floors. It also has a longer battery life and fewer maintenance requirements. It also comes with more extensive range of capabilities for automation, like virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7, however is still our preferred option because it is more robust and more sophisticated, charges faster and is able to be tangled with rug tassels less frequently and has a larger maximum battery capacity.

Easy Setup

The Shark AI Ultra comes with a simple-to-use Schedule that takes only few inputs. You can select the date and time for sunrise and sunset. You can also select the duration of the ramp times (increasing brightness or decreasing brightness) and whether to turn the lights on at night.

It doesn't include smart mapping or voice control like Alexa or Google Assistant, but it does come with a highly useful free programming suite. This suite includes a number of Windows-based applications that allow communication and operating parameter settings such as dmXLAN switch and node configuration and also real-time testing and rapid replication to multiple installations.

Even the most inexperienced users will not have any trouble navigating through the interface. It has tabs on the top, which correspond to the different screens that the installer will show, and there are also tabs that allow you to play with the various options for messages and colors. It is a powerful tool that lets you quickly create an installation of your program. The application is only 1.3MB in size and can be used with Windows 7 to Windows 95.
