If they meet the requirements, the KPU will determine these prospective candidates as regional head candidate pairs on September 22, 2024. Therefore, if any of them have already been elected as 2024 legislative candidates, they will have about one week before being inaugurated as members of the DPR and DPD on October 1, 2024.

Hasyim also reasoned that increasing the number of voters per TPS would simplify data entry by merging voters from two TPS into one. "The figure of 600 is aimed at making it easier to design the number of TPS, thus facilitating regrouping or data collection since two TPS become one," he assured.

"For the 2024 regional elections, we will prepare for a maximum of 600 voters per TPS, ensuring no merging of villages/sub-districts, ease of voter access to the TPS, not separating voters within the same family at different TPS, and local geographical aspects," said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari at the Parliament Building in Senayan, Jakarta (15/5/2024).

In a significant decision, KPPS members for the 2024 Election and Regional Elections will receive financial rewards with salaries twice as large as those in the previous election in 2019. This decision is outlined in the Minister of Finance's Letter No. S-647/MK.02/2022 dated August 5, 2022.
