WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other items. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. Another notable modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance, it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
