WoW Upgrades - The item upgrades Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar Item Level Upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which displays a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
