Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one session and without the need to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For instance, you can choose to have the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop clean up the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum cleaner uk mop and vacuum, is the most recent version. Unlike last year's model this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might be unable to pick up.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean around them without skipping a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.

The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

It is also possible to alter suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other best robot vacuum that mops vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
