WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the Best item upgrader level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The Best item upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item level upgrade upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
