Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment provides a linear increase in the stats of a particular.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through many different methods such as the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to increase their value.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. Select the item upgrader kit in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewers and trigger interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language, making them more effective in transmitting a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by a certain amount. This is clearly displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount by which the glyph will increase a stat, but the maximum amount by which it can do so. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier as well as the quality of the item you are admiring.

Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you want to remove the glyph from an item, you will need to save it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be recovered using the glyph shards.

When you remove an item after adding a glyph the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also add an inscription on your equipment to provide a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who take a lot damage from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Reroll tokens give the player a new random affix, which is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, therefore items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits to upgrade units. A reroll will roll the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains the same. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, however, players must be aware that it will reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls used to raise the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect is most evident on Rings and Diadems as they have no other options to increase the ilvl.

The Reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive and it's more equitable to let players pay for it with money or a food item that allows them to change their builds without wasting time and energy. The developers have no plans to implement paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They plan to add a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which boosts damage or healing for a stat. In addition, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. After this the new item will retain its iLevel but it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded item type.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. Most of the time, a higher roll is based on the glyphs. However there are instances when a more or unique roll could occur. Additionally the iLevel of an upgrade will be determined by the item type which means that if you upgrade a unique or rare item to an exceptional item type it could gain a higher iLevel.

Upgrades can be costly, especially if you are upgrading gear from the standard track to the legendary. The cost will depend on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it has. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're fortunate the upgraded item upgrader mod could reach the maximum level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will provide a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.

The iLevel can also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a unique or rare to a rare or exceptional item upgrader kit is likely to be upgraded to the Enhanced Defense of the base type of item.
